2. In the Backyard

The rush over to the edge of the backyard throwing baseball. Being kids they don't care much about the food. What matters as long as they are having fun own their own. They caught their mothers attentions who call them over to have their lunch before it getting colder.
Mother 1 & 2: Boys! Dylan! David!
Dylan & David: What?!
Dylan's Mother: We are not waiting for you....
David's Mother: Furthermore it's getting cold out here guys. Eat your lunch.
They rush to the deck. Grab their food and hurry them up into their stomach. They sit at the edge of the deck talking about something that seems to interest them well. Their fathers as usual are busy with the beers on their hands.

Dylan's Mom: What's very interesting?

David's Mom: Yeah...what seems to be very interesting. They get along well don't they?

Dylan: Nothing much. Just talking about the TV program we watch earlier.

Then they caught the attention of the two gentlemen...

Bennett: Yeah! What was the program again that tied your rear end to the couch?

David: Some war stuff...

Dylan: Yeah Dad! It was cool...

Dylan's Mom: Hey young man! there's nothing cool about war. War's cruel and mean.

David: Yeah the guns so cool. The missiles can avoid building looking for targets.

Dylan: Yeah! One day we are going to shoot that gun for real...

They hi-five each other full of energy. They share common interest that bond their friendship even greater. they finished their lunch and move into the house as it is getting colder. And behind them their mother are not giving up on the war issue. They strongly object to it...as all mothers do.

Dylan's Mom: You boys are not going to the army. Not when I am still alive.

David's Mom: Did you hear that David? We are not going to lose you boys because of war we fought overseas. And why do we care so much about fighting war away from home? I just don't get it...

Dylan's Mom: I know what you saying... That's really awful. Sending your boys abroad and let them die abroad is sickeningly sick.

Dylan's Dad: Well ladies...a man has to do his job as marine to protect our country. That's the duty of the Arm Forces.

David's Dad: I know what you're saying man...They pledge to defend this country and that include sacrificing life. Sad but that's the package deal that come with the job descriptions...

Dylan's Dad: Yep! To Serve and to Protect! Cheers bud...

Seconds of silence...

Dylan's Mother: Boys remain as boys...

David's mom: That's really horrible. I can't imagine my David going to war abroad shooting and killing people...

Dylan's mom: And for us not knowing what's gonna happen to them. Imagine all that?

David's dad: Well guys...they are not going to war now but our country is tomorrow.

Dylan's dad: Yep! we are going to see our boys shooting missiles at Saddam's men chasing them out from that little oil-rich country. What's is it again?

David's dad: Who give a damn! Just as long as they manage to do it fast and get back home as soon as they can. No body bags! Kuwait! That's it...

Dylan's dad: Are you alright man? Another beer?

David's dad: Why not! Thanks...

David's mom: Oil! Oil! Oil!

1. IN THE LIVING ROOM – WATCHING TV

1991 Weekend -
Gorgeous sunny winter afternoon two young boys spend times together watching war documentary film showing the might and the glorious days of the United States Arm Forces as their parents barbecuing having cold American beers at the backyard deck talking about the possible outcomes of tomorrow’s air strike.

DAD 1 (Joe Bennett): Why don’t you boys enjoy the sun out there instead of watching TV stuff in here?

SON 1 (Dylan Bennett): It’s not just stuff dad…

SON 2(David Orroco): Yeah…it’s war stuff and we’re kicking some people’s butts

They reluctantly getting up from the couch following instruction from the old man. The families, the Orrocco and the Bennett, are typical southern families who enjoy cold beers and some barbecuing.
